High Income Residency Costs Question
Please note that the question only refers to "High Income" (Renters/Leasers) WHO ARE OVER 60 AND HAVE PENSIONS and NOT to Property Owners - asking this question because every response I have found appears to only refer to those with Property. Sorry to be so exact.
Has anyone on the High Income residency bracket applied for and been granted a two year renewal in the last month or two?
If so can you please let me know - A) What was the total cost of the residency per person? B) What was the total cost of the Health Insurance per person?
The only new information I have is the cost of the Muhtar letter for Catalkoy has risen from 20TL two years ago to 100TL as of yesterday.
Thanks in advance for any further information. Eagerly (kind of) awaiting our Police Appointment on the 13th of September - lol.

Re: High Income Residency Costs Question
Hope the temperature drops for you.
At least your information re yourselves is right. We are property owners for last 20+ years and the last three have been classed as High Income. Visits to Police etc to no avail.

kedikat2903, Many thanks for the information. I was begining to think we were the only High Income residency paying people left in the TRNC - LOL. With a Police interview on the 13th of September and a minimum raise due that month I guess our bill will be higher than yours. Looking forward to when the Government live up to their promise of residency exemption at a cost of 38.40tl the same as property owners - won’t hold my breath for that mind you!

Yes you can. I paid for both not so long ago with UK card, even health insurance which used to be local card only.benjaminbutton wrote: ↑Wed 21 Aug 2024 8:07 amCan you buy by UK card, I don't have a sou in this country, removed it all about two years ago.

I wish so too Waddo, as it looks like you need Kocan for the exemption, and I cannot see any way of me getting that by January when current 6 month residency, which I got in July, runs out.

Re: High Income Residency Costs Question
alphamike, the promise was for High Incomes first, then they added the new law for property owners to it. Surprise, they did not know how many property owners had no Kocan and when it became clear, they smelt a lot of money to be made from property owners and passed that part of the law fast! In the normal manner of things here, they never thought about how much work for themselves that would generate and little extra staff to deal with it, end result is a gradual slow down in the property owners part and a total halt to passing the High Incomes law as well! Although it would be nice to only have to pay 38.40 tl for exemption and it is a bit galling to have to continue down the old residency route and end up paying 20,000tl plus for 2 years, I think the property owners problems need to be sorted out first myself. They have, potentially much more to lose and need the help even if, for some of them, their position is of their own making.
There will be another surprise on the way I feel when the Government find out just how many people rent/lease here. Watch and see what happens next I guess.
