Dear members does anyone know if Sat Nav's work in Northern Cyprus and if so which ones. My sister whom lives in TRNC has asked if I could take her one from the UK . Garmin Smart55 Sat Nav ?

Re: Sat Nav
I don't know whether she could get up-to-date maps for her particular SatNav for TRNC, but using Google maps on a smartphone is a really good experience.
She can save the Google Cyprus map (which includes TRNC) to her 'phone before she leaves UK or wherever she lives, and even if she doesn't have a data package on her phone it will work OK.
There are other mapping apps that work OK on smartphones - Waze, Maps.me, and a few others.
She could also install Roadly which is a dashcam app & which also keeps a track of your actual speed - very handy evidence in the event of an 'incident'
Roadly is slightly heavy on battery usage, so not recommended if your battery is dodgy unless you keep it charging via the car's USB socket!
The above info is based on my experience with an Android Phone - if she has an Apple iPhone, then I'm sure that there are equivalent apps available.

Waze is also very good for northern Cyprus, a free app for Android. Don't know about I Phone.

Re: Sat Nav
The ones that we have in our cars all work both here and the south. That could be because they are supplied with the car and not a separate system.

Use Google Maps. I live on an unmarked unmade track. I send location to delivery drivers.. They come right to the door

Thats what delivery drivers use themselves, so it makes sense to make it easy for them doesn't it Mimi?
