sunnycyprus is a well established and very reliable isp. I have dealt with them for about 10 years and have no complaints.

I will be looking for an internet provider in the not too distant future, does anyone know the upload speeds from SCI, they also appear to cap usage of their wireless system, does anyone know the implications of this? any other pros and cons in comparison with other providers would be helpful.

Most suppliers have a package 1. 2. 5 Gbs ect if you use more than this a month they may cap the supply.
Personally I am using the internet most days, I have a 5Gbs ADSL connection, they never cap my usage.

Re: sunny cyprus internet enquiry
I had replied to this earlier but for some reason it hasn't been posted so I will have another go:
Its my understanding that an "ADSL" system is operated over an existing telephone connection, without this link the only option is "wireless" and unless I am mistaken it is this option that has the restrictions. As I dont have a telephone line I will be looking for wireless connection, but will be 'uploading' as well as 'downloading' so both bandwidth capacities are important for my requirements therefore any info on reliability and speed etc will be much appreciated.

The general consensus on Wireless broadband seems to be Multimax, they also have tv packages including 10 English channels as part of your broadband package. A 5Mb package will often far exceed the contract speed and costs around 70tl per month. I have been here for 7 years and this is by far the best service I have encountered both in usage and aftercare. Unlimited data both ways
Some are wise and some otherwise.....

Re: sunny cyprus internet enquiry
There seems to be some confusion here.
Both ADSL and 'wireless internet' are priced based on the speed of the connection and do not have data limits per month. Speed is measured in Mega bits per second.
3G (mobile phone company) based internet is sold based on the amount (volume) of data you can download in a month. Volume is measured in Giga bytes.
ADSL uses an existing phone line to deliver internet access. With ADSL you pay a monthly fee to the state owned Telco and a monthly (or yearly) fee to your Internet Service Provider.
In summary then. There are 3 'types' of internet service. ADSL, 'wireless internet' and 3G based internet. The first two do not have data limits and price varies on speed of the connection. 3G based internet does have data limits and is priced on how much data you can send and receive a month.

No, I only want it for a holiday. We were in Lanzarote recently and were able to hire a ADSL there for a month, so was wondering if there were any companies in TRNC who would do the same.
