Noticed this on Facebook
Several burglaries in bahceli / tatlisu area and now one confirmed in esentepe 2 persons wearing masks opening downstairs windows
Hopefully they will be caught soon, if only they knew what their actions cause, it's not necessarily the things they take but the invasion of someone's privacy.
And so not here!!!

Thanks for the heads up snd, hadn't heard anything about it. Hope the evil sods are caught pronto and due justice applied. As you say, it's the invasion of privacy that really gets at people. I know of two different households who have left the island due to break in to their property in Tatlisu area, so there are bound to be more. This just did not use to happen here, and doors could safely be left opened.

Yes, totally agree alphamike. Left windows open, didn't lock doors, didn't bother to lock car doors either.. It was blissful in those days, sadly not now, TRNC is barely recognisable unfortunately. Problem being, if there is a lot of building in the area, there are people eyeing up your property or knocking on doors looking for work. Are these break Ins on large developments or isolated houses?

BB, yes it was blissful and wasn't that long ago. Cars left with keys in, so that they could be moved if in the way of anything, couldn't do that now.
There is so much new building going on along this way, it's totally unrecognisable any more, and obviously a lot of strangers walking by, used to be only mainly people you knew, and a stranger stuck out like a sore thumb.
No idea where the break ins have been, but hope to find out more from local sources.
Am just hoping that having a largish dog who has no problem exercising his vocal chords when there are strangers about, will be a deterrent.
