Depending on your trip length, you could fly and drive from Adana (approx 3 1/2 hrs journey).

Did this about 9 years ago there were no direct flights infact the number of potential touchdowns and seats in airports made it worse than flying to the UK nearly didn't go
So Pegasus flight to Adana 40 minuites or any other airline then a 3 to 31/2 hour drive to Capadocia .Hire car Zest car hire about £150 for 5 days

The drive is dual carrageway and motorway did all the driving in daylight car came with toll tag
Really impressed with the service stations food and cost unlike the airport food and cost
Antalya is an alternative but 6 hours 30 drive you could visit Konya as well

Although Nevsehir airport is closer, not sure if there are any direct flights but there are to Kayseri (Pegasus) which is closer than Adana. We also flew to Adana and hired a car 11 years ago staying in Goreme. Lovely area and having a car gave us the opportunity to explore.
