DHL package from UK to Girne, experiences…?

Good morning all.

I am considering sending a car part (new) from UK to Girne via DHL. Low purchase cost, ie £40.

I am hoping to read here of people’s experiences of using DHL, collection in Girne and the way TRNC Customs decide on the levy to be applied.

I have had multiple Revolut cards delivered to my door here via DHL no problem, they always contact you via WhatsApp so make sure you leave the correct phone number for the app.

Also very recently had a shirt delivered to me with a value over £100 which DHL delivered again straight to my door without any extra charges but I think I was just lucky that time tbh....they did email a lot of very confusing information about customs clearance procedures and a number to ring which unfortunately is freephone Turkish no. and impossible to connect to from here!

I believe they have an office near the new harbour (opposite Lords Palace) CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIS?? as I was prepared to make a visit here to arrange the customs charges but as I say it just arrived at my door!!
Also all DHL deliveries seem to come from Famagusta (where they def. have an office).

The price may surprise you! I enquired into the DHL cost to send a 4.5kg package from UK to TRNC and was quoted 107 euros! As the contents was only worth 45 euros I decided against it! The DHL office in UK also told me that the TRNC was not on their list and they would be able to send it to Cyprus or Turkey only. I found that strange as my passports have always been sent to here via DHL? Would welcome knowledge of whatever address people have used to receive goods here via DHL?

Destination Service Area:
ERCAN (NORTHERN CYPRUS) - TURKEY

This is from their own tracking (above) if you just use normal address ie GIRNE with your local post code number, Kibris via Mersin 10, Turkey etc they shall locate the above DHL service area and apply it to the Waybill....their actual code for here is TR-ECN-ECN

Just a quickie prior to me contacting them myself, did they go by weight or size, did they pack themselves, ( Items which I'm considering sending back to UK are fragile) very if not, did they supply packing for you do do it. Do they limit themselves to specific areas in the UK. Thanks in advance.

If those questions are for me, sorry, I haven't used them myself, but as mentioned, have seen multiple positive posts about them.
