Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Tried both Kibtek and Paypoint this morning and neither working, they open but then say error a soon a I type in any information. , which will makes it look as if I'm a month in arrears now. I am beginning to think that after 20 years of using same UK card and number, their computers won't recognise my new Turkish.

No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
I've been to three places in Alsancak this morning who advertise they can pay bills to Kibtek - no luck they couldn't get through. Queued up at Is bank but they couldn't open Kibtek and their advice was to get down to the main Kibtek office in Girne asap tomorrow morning to avoid being cut off. I'll try again this afternoon both Paypoint and Kibtek, plus try and get through on their phone.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
I've just paid my electric bill using Kibtek website (the link provided in the bill email) successfully. Actually it was hanging at first and noticed that in Chrome, Halkbank permissions were all set to negative for location and device use, so changed them and then page came up allowing me to continue with transaction.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Can't get into either Kibtek or Paypoint. One suddenly reverts to Kibrisbankamatic all in Turkish and gives me 60 seconds to figure out what to do the other HALK BANK demands a passcode which will appear on my the screen with only seconds to go and it never does. So I reckon it's an early start to the Girne offices at 8am tomorrow. What a bloody fiasco. (Oddly enough Kibtek and Paypoint don't agree re amounts to be paid )

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Hmmm, something not right there. Have you tried clicking on the link on your last email bill from Kibtek, that's assuming that you get bills that way.
There's a lightbulb, and underneath text Ödeme yapmak için buraya tıklayınız.
(Click to make payment)
Clicking on the buraya bit which is highlighted in blue, takes me to their website with amount to be paid.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Thanks Alphamike for your suggestions but actually don't really mind an early start and coffee in Girne, particularly when it cool. Seems strange though and perhaps a coincidence that Is bank couldn't open either plus Kibtek and Paypoint amounts were thousands out, so I think a face to face is best. Cheers.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Understand totally BB, at least that way you will get to the bottom of it and get situation resolved. You've certainly not had it easy of late with all sorts. Best of luck.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Got up early, into Girne by 8.15, walked down to the Electricity Office to find it shut for the day, Central Girne was a Ghost Town, apparently today is Candle Day, all banks, Belediye, Post Offices and all Government offices and shops closed with the exception of booze shops, three chemists and the coffee shops. The central car park was free and according to man who was just operating the barriers, the machine next next to Kiosk was not working for Kibtek.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
I always pay by online banking. Selecting payments, elektrik then putting in customer number the amount to pay comes up. I can then pay direct from my current account. All very easy.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
For years have paid by online as well, however on this occasion the amounts are totally incorrect between Kibtek and Paypoint, thousands of tl incorrect, hence a face to face at the offices is necessary.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Had this issue last year, turned out Paypoint reflects only the electric used, in our case late payment fees had been added from 2 years before we moved in, this accounted for the difference in figures between Kibtek and paypoint.benjaminbutton wrote: ↑Thu 04 Sep 2025 12:22 pmFor years have paid by online as well, however on this occasion the amounts are totally incorrect between Kibtek and Paypoint, thousands of tl incorrect, hence a face to face at the offices is necessary.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Went into Girne again this morning and yes, it was someone's birthday. Your're probably correct, I haven't checked. Strangely enough a local cafe owner in Girne said it was a joke, Here they were in TRNC and the place shuts down, but in Turkey it was hardly celebrated. Anything for yet another Government day off, he reckoned. BTW, apparently the Candle Day was a misinterpretation of Birthday!!

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Had a face to face at Kibtek in Girne, 8.15am and third in the queue. Apparently there has been an anomaly between Paypoint and Kibtek computers which I didn't totally understand and which has been slowly building up over a number of months. However the office did suggest may be I go by Kibtek figures to avoid any problems in the future.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Glad you've got it sorted BB. Must admit I've been using Kibtek website, rather than Paypoint for a few months now, just going straight from the link on email bill, and always download receipt.
Paypoint was easy when there wasn't an extra charge of paying phone bill. It's hardly anything, but paying it direct, gets extra GB in data, plus Tatlisu bele are not on Paypoint, so have to pay them direct online too.

Re: Kibtek and Paypoint,
Actually Girne quite nice at that time of the morning. HOWEVER IF YOU ARE GOING IN NOW OR NEXT DAY OR SO, PLEASE BE VERY AWARE AS ROADS YOU HAVE DRIVEN DOWN FOR LAST FEW YEARS ARE CLOSED, YOU GET SENT WRONG WAY ROUND A ROUND ABOUT, CAN'T GET INTO USUAL ENTRANCE TO CARPARK, YOU HAVE TO GO ALL THE WAY ROUND TO FAR SIDE. TODAY THEY WERE ALLOWING CARS TO GO DOWN THE MAIN ROAD PAST GEORGES, BUT ON FRIDAY THEY WERE NOT. Possibly removing the main round about, I don't know, but its chaos and locals are obviously bemused.
