If you pay your 1000 TL online but then go to the mot station after the allotted time and the car passes they will not be able to give you the mot document until you have also paid the 500 TL fine, which you can not pay at the mot office but either online or at a different office.

I was caught out by this and intend to try and always check online again on the day I am actually taking the car to the mot office to make sure all payments are current and up to date before I go there.
