BJB, I think lots of company’s would empty your house - the problem is what they do with the house contents when they have them. If it is simple disposal that should be easy butt if you are looking for ‘Removals’ that is a different story! Dolphin have emptied my friends house into storage and then put the contents into a different house, then back into storage and finally shipped some to UK and disposed of the rest. They may be worth a call and conversation?
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

İ know a TC now living and working in the south. He advertises he will receive purchases into the south and deliver into the north, for a charge of course. He may be able to assist you with furniture crossing from south to north. Let me know here if you are interested in following this up and l will provide contact details.

Unless the Green Line Regulations have changed, I believe that for new Furniture to be transported from the South to the North, it has to be manufactured in the South.

I think that it's a little more complicated but that's the gist of it.

And I will add, that the customs will almost certainly have an interest in any 'furniture' coming from the south. They can confiscate it from you; then you have to go to customs HQ to pay any import duty (30%?) plus VAT. If you don't declare it when crossing, i.e. inform customs whilst at the passport control, and they find it on a car search, you will also be fined. Unless a special piece of furniture I'd ask is it worth the potential hassle?
