Fire extinguiser

I read recently that private cars need to carry a fire extinguiser and the Police will be checking. It will also be a requirement for your MOT.
Where can I buy one in Lapta area please?

Atakara petrol station, Alsancak will stock fire extinguishers suitable for various classes of vehicle.

Any car spare parts and bits etc shop. Lots everywhere.most people buy the emergency set need when mot is due. Around £30 ish.

It has always been a requirement to have a fire extinguisher in your car, the same as two warning triangles and a sealed first aid kit. Fire extinguisher has to be at least 1Kg I seem to remember but don't quote me on that - 1Kg must be the bare minimum anyway. Always good to carry odd other things out here - tow rope, torch, water (drinking and vehicle) wheel chock is handy as are tire inflation kits, my latest addition is one of those jump starter gadgets that you charge up at home then stuff under the driving seat for the day your battery goes flat!! It may seem excessive but imagine you are broken down out on the Karpas just before sunset or in the heat of the afternoon - you can never tell so play safe and not only to stay within the law!! Drive safe folks.

I bought the full pack from Atakara garage. I that included the triangle, I already had one triangle that I bought from Mr Pound. Not overly impressed by the first aid section and I might make up my own, but it more than satisfied the MOT You should see the TINY fire extinguisher that came with and fitted in a hire car. Miniscule.

I’ve got one of them. Picked it up in England, not sure if they sell them out here.
It’s ok having jump leads but you do need another car in the equation to make them worthwhile
Always worth topping them up every couple of months.

ETS, I just changed cars to a Toyota Hybrid and as a result had an English information display fitted in place of the Japanese one! Because it was a very tricky fit it took a long time and the auxiliary battery went flat! That means for a hybrid that you can't do anything now as you can't start the fuel engine and the electric side stops working! Lucky me, I had transferred my jump starter from the old car to the new one. Quick attachment to the aux battery and everything up and running again in minutes - worth it's weight so to speak - bought it at Lidl in the South a couple of years ago!! I still see them for sale there every now and then, well worth having as some of them even incorporate a pump for your tyres as well.

Load of nonsense country is broken..

They need the requisite life jackets on a ferry boats not a few plasters in a car boot...

I do understand your frustration, but 'Two wrongs don't make a Right' - the lack of compliance on a ferry does not excuse you from not complying with a simple Road Traffic Regulation...

Was in superhome centre yesterday; they only had 750g (not KG LOL). However, they also had 2kg ones- bloody heavy and about €35-40. If I put one of them in the boot it will fill it up (Fiat 500!)

For those Esentepe/Tatlisu area, I got a 1kg fire extinguisher and a pack containing 2 triangles and some other bits in the yapi market on main road, next to H Gul market. Total price 3178 TL. Yes, my MOT is coming up shortly, so getting prepared.
