Green grass in Cyprus catal koy
I am pleased to let you see the terrible building look which I have transformed to beautiful green grass.

I am sorry but I have to ask, why does anyone want" green grass". Surely watering it can be a problem in Summer time. Maybe it is just me, or does anyone else hanker after a English garden??

Lol pls great credit to you, grass is not just associated with England in my opinion , just harder work in hot climates That's good does look ok on the website, of course any colour will be fine, the white thing is not essential, it was something that nina did when we went to cyprus with all the kids, but as u can imagine not everything was white, as long as everyone is there thats more important..! as for the jock strap...!! Lol. Ok will chat on FT soon cheers for all your help ...!

Hi Owl Lady,
You are right about the water but this villa has the water well. However if you are garden lover you would not mind if the maintenance is high.

I too get nostalgic for the sight and even more the smell of an English lawn. However that is in England and this is Cyprus. You dont often get 5 months without rain in Enland, nor subject grass to long periods of relentless hot sun.
Do you know the story of the gardener who was asked by an American Tourist the secret of a perfect English lawn? "Well, lady, you cuts it, then you rakes it, then you rolls it, tehn you cuts it again and rakes and rolls it, and keep on doing that for 4 hundred years"
I wish you rich customers , best dreams, because these days most of us have to watch the pennies (I mean kurus) however much we love gardens. It is not just water, it is maintenance and electricity. And dont forget wells deplete the water table in a country of drought.
I agree green is cool and calming and sets off the building. But would it have been cleverer to achieve the effect using local low maintenance and drought resisistant ground cover?

Have to agree with RR.
IMHO it is selfish to have a lawn in a country where there is a water shortage.
Cyprus being the hottest driest island in the Med needs to conserve as much water as possible.

On a lighter note, to conserve water I would suggest watering the lawn with scotch, at least when it grows it will come up "half cut".
