BA change flight times again
Just been looking at the BA website and noticed they have changed the flight times again from 1st November.
LHR > LCA, depart 12.05, land 18.30
LCA > LHR depart 19.40, land 22.45
I am rather miffed as I have had no notification from them of the change.

Re: BA change flight times again
Thank you for letting me know as British Airways have not notified me for my November/December flights. Aegean has made changes without notifying us and now British Airways. Where is their duty of care to their clients??? I booked to come out a day earlier because it was an overnight flight and now it's a lunchtime flight. Coming back is later than ever before

Re: BA change flight times again
When we spoke to the BA staff at Heathrow in March they themselves were unaware of the time change.
When they looked on the computer they then said "Oh yes that will be seasonal."
So it may or may not be temporary.

Re: BA change flight times again
Scarlets I was the poster praising BA a while back but to be quite honest, they are pants flew over on the night flight, got in at 5.30 am, absolutely knackered cos I can't sleep on a flight, got to Dome hotel where I always stay, dying for a sleep only to be told that we couldn't move into our room till 2pm, I was not impressed at all, we are regulars there, stayed 5 times since last Sept and expected to be treated a lot better. Never coming back, all added to the general despair of the holiday.
BA is our national carrier, not a cheap airline so IMO should not be flying overnight at their prices!! Flights, car hire and 4 nights at Dome cost us £2000, there are far better hot countries to live.

Re: BA change flight times again
Belle-I agree that if the Dome had other rooms ready they could and should have accommodated you as a matter of goodwill, but if they didn't(because they were full),it is common practice not to be allowed into your room until 2pm or even later, given that most hotels expect you to be out of your room anywhere between 10.30am and 2pm.
Bit harsh to blame the Dome because of BA's cock-up.
Also,I am confused as to whether you live here, or just come on holiday, given that you said 'There are far better hot countries to live'.
If you live here, but were staying at the Dome then fair enough.
But if you just come on holiday,I don't see how you can make value judgements on what it is like to live here.

Re: BA change flight times again
Philoz, I lived there for years before the cruelty of animals and red tape and rip off prices for the expats finished it for me, I was however thinking of returning, hence my reason for the many stays at the Dome since last Sept., over the years I have stayed at the Dome dozens of times, we are known by all the staff and are referred to as part of the furniture and NO the place wasn't full, no hotel in the TRNC is ever full, if you live there you should know that.
So I know a lot about the place, not just a holidayer.

The flight times revert to the overnight LHR to Larnaca on 1st April 2014. It seems that for this and next summer we are stuck with a 5 am arrival at Larnaca.

Belle, not a pleasant situation to be in, especially if you are arriving at a hotel. Can't believe after all the fuss with going out terminal3 and returning to terminal 5, then the unannounced change from morning departure to evening departure and now changing to a lunchtime departure. Very very confusing for everyone, I for one are still waiting for the official BA notification that my November flight has been changed. Common courtesy does not cost anything. However, I must say they are a great airline to fly on. Wish we had a few more options for the south and north. Cyprus Airlines and hanging by a thread

BA are a good airline but I will not be flying with them again till they change the menu, I am sick to death of chicken curry, I wouldn't mind but it is dreadful and nothing like curry. I did complain and the flight crew did agree with me and said something would be done about it. Here's waiting.

I always opt for the veggie option & don't they normally have a choice for the main menu or was your comment tongue in cheek Belle?

I didn't even know there was a choice the flight crew did tell me this time, I have been flying BA for years on and off and didn't know, what a dummy I am

I have just booked Turkish Airlines Manchester/Ercan 6th November to 29th January £513 for 2, 11.10am out and back 9.40am, choice of meal from about 15, free drinks, 23kg hold luggage and 10kg hand luggage, that is good value for me.

Re: BA change flight times again
well done woodspeckie, made a good choice. BA still have notified me of the changes to my flights but on a positive note I arrive earlier and have a few extra hours before I depart. Still a shambles bearing in mind the fiasco with Aegean two weeks ago.

Re: BA change flight times again
Just had a response from the email I sent to BA customer services, usual platitudes, sorry for any inconvenience caused, blah blah. I'm not so annoyed about the change in times, it's the lack of customer service in informing me & horrible time for flying back into London.

I think that BA should have arranged a room early at The Dome for you, your treatment has been disgraceful!
Oh actually there are full hotels here in the TRNC, I even know several that were moved last year because Agents oversold!

No one hotel owner I know has several full weeks over the summer, I think there are more flights coming than have been for a while if not ever.
