My friend from Çatalköy brought me two loaves of Rye bread from a new German bakery in the Çatalköy/Girne area(not really sure where it is, I forgot to ask him). Don't know what they are called. Can find out.
This is the best rye bread I have had since we left East Germany. They also make English type bread and lots of other things including cakes. My friend said there was a queue, when he got there just after nine. By the time it got to Dipkarpaz it was still warm, soooo wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If all their other stuff is as good, I can't wait to try it all!

Dippersgirl - It's called 'The Food lodge' and is situated in the same block as the Bacchus wine bar.
I went for the first time today(on recommendation) and spent an informative 10 minutes chatting to one of the co-owners.
She certainly knows about bread as an art form, and encouraged me to try new types of bread,I left with a bagful of piping hot fresh bread.
I have been munching all day on delicious Soda bread which I haven't had since childhood, It was absolutely bloody delicious.
I am looking forward to the Rye bread tomorrow for breakfast.
I really hope they do well,as the quality was superb.

I would recommend this shop, Bread is excellent, AND the only place I know of that sells fresh cream buns.

If you are coming from Girne - Travel along the coast road - go past the Cratos Hotel, keep driving, pass Supreme süpermarket on the left, keep driving, pass Tempo süpermarket on left. About 500m further on, there is a row of shops on the right - they are set bsck from the road. There are wooden pergolas etc fr sale. The bread shop is in this row of shops.

Hope that helps.
