Alkan Sunday Market tomorrow
The market is on tomorrow from 10am until 1pm. Pat will be there with sausage rolls (sold out in 30 mins last time) and other goodies. We will be selling goods on behalf of SPOT and Kuskor as well as marmalades, chutneys and a new batch of local apricot jam.

Some info for future stallholders. Cengiz can no longer supply tables so if you plan to have a stall you will have to bring your own plus an umbrella for shade.

That sounds like a bit of a death knoll to some would be sellers. Shame. But I don't evenknow where it is. Maybe there are just a few too many markets these days. This morning there was the antique fair as well, which was fairly wlel attended, although that is a bit of a specialist thing.

It could be Marion but the restaurant is doing so well with Sunday lunches that they need the tables. They were provided free of charge so it's understandable that now business is picking up they are needed for paying customers. The market is at Alkan Holiday Village, Esentepe (on the coast road) so really handy for the surrounding area, next closest market is at Soyz in Catalkoy which is a fair trek from Tatlisu, Bahceli and Esentepe. Today, there were stalls selling: household goods; new and second hand clothing; books/dvds; Dawn's jewellery; sausage rolls, biscuits and cakes; marmalades, jams and chutneys as well as goods raising funds for SPOT and Kuskor. Visitors can stop for hot and cold drinks as well as the highly recommended Sunday lunch which it is advisable to book in advance.
It doesn't cost anything to run a stall, unlike some markets, you just need to provide your own table and sunshade - you can sell from you car if you want. The trade has been building up steadily over the last few months and more stallholders are very welcome. The next market is on Sunday 2nd June.

see what you mean. Sounds as though it might be easier for some to use it as a car boot sale, or have one of those small tables to complement it. Good that things are happening over there. I would certainly welcome it if I live dov er there, and sounds as though the area is becoming more alive than ever.
Make sure that you keep posting on KibKom and in the events section as well. Keep em coming. Just one question, if someone wanted to supply a table, could the restaurant store it for them?
good luck with it all, especially with the good weather coming.

Marion
Re table storage, to be honest I don't know. Anyone interested in finding out should contact Cengiz on 0542 869 7512/0533 869 7512.

Thanks for posting that. It might help someone. Carting a table around can be difficult if one ha sonly a small vehicle, but one could always do a 'one off'. But that is up to the proprietors.

Lets hope it doesn't put people off coming to sell...... its just starting to get popular. Would be a shame to see it fold.
Its very popular, because its the only one of its kind over that way.
