Money restriction south to north

Does anyone know if the restriction on the amount of cash that can be taken from the South to the North is still in force? Any information on this would be great - thanks

Last I heard it was 2000 euros limit (late April)

When I crossed two weeks ago there was a sign at the crossing saying the restriction was 500€ but no one seemed to be checking

Not even checking passports at the moment. We could have 'smuggled' in as many illegals as we wanted - I think they know that even the illegals do not want to go there at this time! Seriously though, they are so lazy at the borders (on both sides) and I am sure they are paid a good salary - someone must be putting superglue on their chairs!
