I should have said that his food and drink prices are really reasonable - and he hasn't paid me one kouros for saying so. And the imported sand is there in abundance see you there?

I thinkyou are correct. turn up and have a word with Al. Mind you i have not asked if there is a cost for umbrellas. I will ask. But it sounds a good bargain. I get the impression that al wants people to come along and discover if it is a place for them to happilyspend an hour or two or a day. There is soon to be a sailing club - quite soon, but don't know exactly when,so he is trying to turn it into a bit of a mini resort that is not a rip off.

But I am surmising this. If I find out any more will post it, otherwise turn up and ask your questions. You can always sit and have a cuppa in the Wok Around the Clock and soak up the fresh air.

good question! But I doubt somehow that the answer to your question will be positive. The beginning of July saw the end of a short lived era. it seems incredible that the market was open for such a short period of time as it made such an impact on the lives of many.

maybe al wa snot all rogue. He worked jolly hard there to try to succeed. It went all pear shaped and a lot of people got hurt, and I think that al did too. Such a shame for what could have been a fantastic addition tolife here.

so, has anyone heard?

Marions sometimes people start out with good intention but fail to project just how much these projects cost. baring in mind red tape and unreliable workmanship if that worsened the situation. Perhaps things just got on top of Al and he decided to call it a day, and rather than own up that he had got it all wrong, did a moonlight, despite having almost got there with potentially a good venue ! However, it is unfortunate that other circumstances were uncovered from his past which suggests this may not be the case, although portraying himself as a nice person, which he, and others may genuinely think he is. but this is only from personal experience. what you say Barry makes sense. I had e mails from him, and I had lots of conversations with him. Like many people, his story was a long one of a verywinding path. One thing I know is that he loved animals! And just sometime speople cannot cope with the realityof life aorund them, and take the only course of aciton they can see. sometiems that is suicide or justurnning away.
I thnk al was a pretty complex person!

I just hope that the hurts heal quickly but of course the latest saga with the dogs that have bene shot is re-opening wounds for some. Bamboo Beahcinstead of being somethng glorious seems to have become an all round disaster. But life moves on, - thank heavens.

Very wise. I think we all have secret thoughts and opinions, which are best kept that way. whatever thoughts we hav,e none of us has the whole truth, and of courseon KibKom we like to keep things as pure a spossible!

As I say, you are very wise
