passport renewal advice
I understand that to renew passports now goes to belfast and not madrid anymore
if this is correct?
i have just completed my passport form for renewal, but it was abit more difficult this time as i
am married to a cypriot here and the passport asks for additional info.. marriage questions.
i have attached.... my birth certificate, old passport, 2 photographs,
photocopy of husbands kimlik, and photocopy of his european passport.
i have decided to keep my maiden name on my passport like my birth certificate even though 6 months later here i will have my husbands surname which we decided.
now i have been told that i need to get a formal b form.. what ever this is.
yesterday we went to girne to ask then we went to lefkosa to the population building and we was there for an hour, nobody understands what this form is at all.
does anybody else no and is this important for me to send with my renewal form??

Re: passport renewal advice
The link given by kaiserphil is a good one - and you can also down load the new passport forms from it - the old ones died on 13th April!!
Another useful e mail is overseasNewportCCC@ips.gsi.gov.uk which can be used for correspondence and complaints.
Phone number is IPS passport line +44 300 222 0000
The High Commission at Lekosa will no longer take any calls etc re passports. DHL are still recommended NOT mail so a return address (not PO box) is needed, can be Cafe Boss I believe!
BRS has not received copies of new p/port forms but i have one downloaded if anyone wants to borrow to photocopy if they have no printer. Will put a copy in to the BRS Hut (eventually along with the new 2notes"

Re: passport renewal advice
It appears to me that the High Commission are good for absolutely nothing nowadays, unless of course it's a band concert and the like and they do those well. Even the BRS had to help people out who in the past the H.C would have helped. I'd love someone to let me know in words of one syllable, what good they are and how much use they are to those of us who live this side of the Green Line because I can think of nothing at all.

Re: passport renewal advice
Some additional information since my last post on this subject. Although the return address from 13th April had to be an address here that DHL could deliver to - this changed within a few weeks as it did not work (!) and passports are now returning to the High Commission again, and have to be picked up from there. I have had no formal news on this, but got it from Cafe Boss and am passing it on - will try and get more from the HC.

I can confirm that passports have to collected from the High Commission, I received a call from them last week to inform me that my passport was ready for collection. Opening hours are Wednesday & Friday ONLY 9.30 to 3.30

Can the passports be sent away when applying from High Commission?
