Been advised this morning that the water in my pool had been stolen..
Amazing that someone would go to so much trouble.

I'm not 100% sure as to how much has been taken. If it's almost empty, then it will be a lot of trips for a 12ton tanker

it must be hard to hide a tanker and big long hosepipe and a revving engine pumping it out you would have thought that someone would have seen it

Our villa is on it's own, the closest other property is around 500 metres away. However, another villa is currently being constructed nearby. Well pointed out Kevnmax. If I let the police know, do you think that they will investigate this??

According to the guy that looks after the house, it happened between Tuesday and this morning.

Are you sure it's not leaking out to waste from your multiport valve?
I was losing a lot of water and it turned out the rubber gasket in the valve had perished,so that when it was left on 'filter' setting, water was running to waste at a fair lick.
It is also helpful to fit a valve on your waste pipe to help prevent this.
Just a thought.

Sounds more like someone may have messed up myself. I have known this to happen before, pool guy left the pump on "rinse" when the timer cut in the pool emptied. The neighbour asked if a pool pump should be making that much racket, I went to have a look and saw what had happened, the pool guys number was on a check sheet, I rang him and he said what the hell, I will tell them it was nicked. he was a brit too!

Look at it another way, it would take around 6 tankers to empty your pool, they would have to be there probably half an our at a time and a tanker is fairly conspicuous. Does not sound right to me.
Some are wise and some otherwise.....

The guy looking after my neighbours pool virtually accused me of stealing his water but since then on several occasions the valves have jammed and the pool has been emptying itself. Fortunately the owner has seen this situation for himself and proved my innocence. Also has to be said that with the rise in temperature and resent winds the burn off has been substantial.
