Kindle downloads
Is anyone else experiencing problems with downloading books to a 3G + wi fi Kindle?I am able to order books wirelessly and although it says they are being delivered, they do not arrive. The only way I can get them is via USB to my laptop then transfer them to my Kindle.

Re: Kindle downloads
Had this problem last year.
Who is your ISP provider?
Ours had a security block in Turkey that prevented Kindle downloads.
Spoke to Amazon Helpline and they were brilliant, also changed ISP and no problems since.

Re: Kindle downloads
ISP provider is Nethouse. I have spoken to someone at Amazon but they wanted me to de register then re register my Kindle. I didn't feel comfortable about doing this and said I would wait until I return to the UK and see what happens. It's not too big a problem as long as I have access to a computer but frustrating when I am away eg planning a week in Turkey.

Re: Kindle downloads
I know it should download straight to my kindle and I have done this in the past but now it won't do it. I have wondered if the phone server has blocked the service. I know very little about how the wireless system works but I do know that my daughter cannot use her Blackberry iphone except as an ordinary cell phone, ie she cannot send e mails or do anything else which requires internet access.

Re: Kindle downloads
I assume you have a Kindle application on your laptop here? If yes down load as said above and sync you Kindle.
P.S. Blackberrys work fine here no problem but cost a fortune if you have set full roaming on.
I use mine everyday for text but you have to put a UK code in front of the numbers you want to call (+44) or 0044 and leave off the leading zero for STD code.
If you use it heavily expect a bill in excess of £300 for a two week period easily.
Remember you pay to make and recieve calls and we are not in the EU either so no cheap rates. Typical cost is £1.50 per min.
Local pay asyou go is cheaper or contract if staying longer. Monthly fixed cost is only 3TL.

Re: Kindle downloads
Thanks everyone for your help. I am here until the end of June, except for 1 week in Turkey. It seems the easiest option is to download to my laptop and make sure I have all the books I want until I am back in the UK.
