Renewing UK Licence .

Has any one on here renewed their 10 year DVLA Licence by post , if so could you please tell me what forms etc you need, & can you get the application form here.

Mine is ok as I can do mine by Email as I have a biometric passport issued in the last 5 years.

But the wife's passport is a bit older so she cannot do it by Email.

Legally you need to be living in the UK, so it has to be sent in the UK and returned to a UK address. Get someone to bring the forms over from the UK, fill them in and then get someone who is going back to post them in UK. You then need to have a UK address. I used my mum's address. Then you will have to either get a family member to send it to you or get someone to bring it back. A real pain but don't think there is any other way.

Thank you for that Zarafet, I have an address in the UK , I was just asking if there was some where here like the BRS for instance that had the form, which one did you use was it D1. Or if some one is going to the UK soon that could bring me one over it would be much appreciated.

Sorry I can't remember the form number. A friend just went to the Post Office and picked it up for me.

Thanks Kaiserphil but as I previously said you can only do it on line if you have a passport renewed in the last 5 years, which I have & done it was so easy.

But the wife can't do hers on line as her passport is over 5 years old.

So is any one out there going to the UK, who can bring back the form for her please.

Why not wait until you go to UK next? The Post Offfice now have a brilliant service where they can renew your licence on the spot, complete with photo. Available at major offices.

Thanks for that Hippocampus but we wont be going to the UK any time soon, & the wifes licence has to be done by Oct.

So as I said before if any one is going to the UK can they please pick up a form for me .

Don't make the same mistake I did, someone brought the forms over for me from UK with them and i was half way through when it dawned on me they were the forms for someone applying for the first time and not those needed for renewal of an expired licence.
