hi do you haveto pay 17% OF PRICE PAIDED FOR CAR WHEN DOING CHANGE OVER

when selling a business owned vehicle, The business needs to write an invoice for the vehicle and that comes with 16% vat that the business then needs to pay to the government.
The thing is, business cannot really charge this VAT to the buyer, as it is almost impossible to convince to say if the vehicle was privately owned there would be no vat but 16% because its commercial. At the end of the day, seller needs to assume this cost in order to be able to sell.
I would say never register a car under business but probably too late for this one...

Classed as a luxury vehicle and therefore subject to 16% KDV - not on the price at which you manage to sell it, but on the figure the vehicle registration office tells you it is worth, payable when new owner transfers registration!
