I think some of them have notices on the door about no vests/shorts etc, so unless you have a change of clothing with you, it can be a waste of tim e. But also as a matter of respect for the place and the other people there then dress smart/casual. Trousers and loose shirt (I assume we are talking fellas here) as women can wear a nice sun dress and have a lot of it hanging out (if you know what I mean) but again, out of respect to others, not too much hanging out.

Hope you win! I don't go near the places being a born loser!(when it comes to gambling)

As far as I know that is O.K. I think the dress code is more based on Muslim principles ofnot showing the wrong kind of flesh, or down market tat clothing.

it is the same in the south for visiting many places. (based on the Greek Orthodox church). I don't know really why for casinos, but I guess they like to add a sense of glamour to gambling as well as making sure people are decently dressed and not offensive to the eye!

If you get the chance to pop into one or phone one before going I am sure they will tell you exactly what their code is.

Marions I do not think the dress code in the casinos has anything to do with Muslim principles
Gambling is definitely a big sin and not allowed by the Muslim religion - covering flesh would not make it OK...

By the way, ladies are not allowed to wear trainers when entering most casinos (even the most expensive Adidas or Nike ones )

Valid point! But I cannot see why if one is into big sin one cannot be sinfully dressed! But then casinos are not my scene, so what would I know. But I hope that the original poster is now clear what to wear. interesting thing about ladies and trainers. So if men may wear them, then it is a sexist thing! Hmmmmmm

Went to one a few years back wearing Shorts, T-shirt and Sandals. The men at the door called the manager who looked me up and down - I just laughed and asked if they wanted my money or not. They let me in. I lost my money.

We always wear trousers and shirt for the men and the ladies always wear dresses when we go although lots of men in the cassinos wearing jeans and shirts, seen ladies in trousers and tops but mostly in dresses.

Obviously the rules were bent for soner. They obviously saw him as a 'mug' , cos he got his way and went in and they got the money! I get the impression he never went back!
