Parking at Ercan for long stay.
Has anybody got any idea how much it would cost to park for 2 weeks at Ercan?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Not sure exactly but the prices have risen steeply since they were privatised. Tiga Motors in Lefkosia will take you to the airport and then store your car safely and pick you up again at any time day or night. It is much cheaper than the airport and secure. Call them or email at bob@tigatrading.com. 0392 232 4848. 0533 868 5819. They will service your car if you want or offer a valet service while you are away. In Feb their charges were 20ytl for the first day and 5ytl every day after.

The attachment shows the car park charges. I took the photo shortly after the charges went up. By my calculations 14 days and one minute will set you back 155TL. To save a few bob maybe you choose the TIGA option.

thanks Ian, but what was the bottom figure to do with?
they have really stuck up the prices. it seem s only yesterday that parking was free! But these latest charges are ut of all proportion to people on a minimum wage - or is it expected that those on a minimum wage couldnot afford to travel anyway?

Surprisingly enough Ercan now has a website just like a normal airport! This has live Departures & Arrivals & also the parking charges. http://Www.ercanairport.co.uk

Ozankoys -I wouldn't trust the website one bit,as it does not seem to have been updated since 2010!
Just look at the number of references it makes(5 in total) to 'Cyprus Turkish Airlines'-who went bust in 2010 -look here-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyprus_Turkish_Airlines
You would therefore have to assume that the car parking charges quoted there are also circa 2010.
I would suggest Ian's photo in message 4 is more up to date.

For every extra day, it is 10TLMarions wrote:thanks Ian, but what was the bottom figure to do with?
So, 1 day and 1 minute = 25 TL
2 days and 1 minute = 35 TL
3 days and 1 minute = 45 TL
Some of you might find it easier with a formula for the cost of parking:
If n represents number of full days then :
Cost = 10n + 15

Hi sorry I did not realise that I was astounded to find the arrivals & departures & did not look at anything else too closely!

I use the live flight arrivals and departures bit quite a lot and it is up to date.

Deniz - I think the reason for that is that the arrivals and departures bit will be a 'live feed' direct from the control tower(or something like that!),but the rest of the website relies on being updated by a person-something which doesn't seem to have happened for a long time.
