Unbelievable! Last week somebody allowed thousands of copies onto the streets which nobody could read. Todays paper started out ok then the pictures and page cutting and got progressively worse. Come on Cyprus Star sort out your printers before the paper becomes unreadable.

Oh dear. I have not seen a copy yet, but am now in fear and trembling. I was told that this week;'s was o.K. According to the office the copies in there were O.K. I am so sorry. what more can I say! It is so disappointing to hear this because I know the office was VERY concerned about it. so does anyone else out there have a similar problem, or was it perhaps just a few copies? As I say, I have not yet seen the paper.

Maybe you could have a word re employing proofreaders?

Probably done by a contract printer and using Cyprus Star to make ready and iron out faults for their own publication, thus saving their own paper

an interesting surmise Paddywack! And to Blue Butterfly, it is nothing to do with proof reading, but the fault is at the printers, who were, I think, last week asked to be a tad more careful (or words to that effect - i was not privvy to the conversation).

Professional standards of yesteryear and in other countries demands that everything is double checked for quality, but that does not seem to happen in Turkey. But who am I to know - I am just a happy hack. (well, happy sometimes!)

again, - sorry, and again, does anyone else have problems. I still haven't got mine.

There's not much point relying on the file copies that the office receives as these will always be the best quality available somebody needs to go to the printers while the copies are being run to check on the quality.

having finally got my own hard copy, I think there must have been a bad batch, cos my copy is O.K.

However, while talking of the Star, it would be good to have some feedback from readers as to what is good, bad and ugly about the paper, and what they would like to have instead/as well. someone has suggested a TV page, but unfortunatley we cannot for technical reasons do that. sorry, cos I would like it.

So, are there any other thing syou would like in the paper, or are there things you would not like. For instance, there used to be complaints about The Pleasure zone. this ha snow gone and people are saying they are missing it, so we do realise that one cannot please all of the people all of the time (or any of them for part of the time).

But as I said, we would appreciate feed back . Excuse me while I rush off to put on my suit of armour!
