It really is quite easy, my husband renewed his last month, download the form from the Government website, fill in all details, photos can be done down in Girne, when everything is complete take to Cafe Boss, just by HSBC bank and they will send it off by DHL, any problems please pm me.

Yes, photo must be signed here in TRNC, retired teacher, accountant, vet, Doctor, anything along those lines is acceptable.

If you are renewing a passport it is not necessary to have the photo signed on the back ..

https://www.gov.uk/renew-adult-passport
Countersignatories
Get your application form and 1 of your photos signed by someone else to prove your identity if either:

you can’t be recognised from the photo in your existing passport
you’re replacing a damaged passport

Oh no it doesn't .. We have just done both of ours from here & neither was countersigned ..

No need to be pedantic ..

I think if you have uk photo licence you do not need to send a photo when you renew a passport?
or have I got it the wrong way round?

You can renew your uk driving licence using your passport photo but I dont think you can do it the other way around but I might be wrong.
