Thanks for all your support Marion. Will you be there on Sunday?

We are eagerly awaiting the call from the Surgeon. We want George to see who has been kicking him for the last couple of years!

Kindest of Regards

Donkey Dave

As long as it is not you - all will be well. really look forward to hearing more, and to doing a write up. I don't think I can make Sunday because it is such a heck of a long way home. took me 3 hours last week! Plus, although I will enjoy the food and the company, once the music starts that is the end of conversation, so...... this couple of old squares will stay at home and this one can write about it when she has received the info.
If we lived nearer that would be great, but I DO hope that folk from Famagusta, iskele, Bogaz etc will go and support you. and I do hope that the cost won't be too great!

I do hope that a lot of you folk out there will be able to get to DEKS for this special event. I hope the petrol strike does not mean that this event can't be supported as well as it deserves. I know if I was a donkey and blind, I would want to be able to see my 'family'. Here is a chance to help; one poor blind George. Hope it goes well.

If anyone out there would like to donate any bric a brac, we would then be able to do a stall at Lambousa & or Pine Bay, to help support this appeal by David to restore George's eyesight. We ahven't been able to do anything recently, due to a lack of bric a brac.

If you have anything suitable, you can find us at Chateau Lambousa on Saturday, where we could receive any items.

You can contact us via this forum, or on 0533 8630425.

As Marion stated, it is a very long way to Y Erenkoy and with the added petrol strike we wouldn't be able to attend.
Good luck George!

I have a box of books, if it will help, but otherwise not a llot of stuff, but if everyone gave a little, it might help to raise money for the operation. It would give me a good excuse to come down to Pine Bay!!!

How much is needed to fund this operation and recovery? How much has been raised so far? I will be over in Nc in early June.

As yet no figure has been given. David Eacock (principal keeper of the royal household!) has not yet been given a figure, but it will involve an opthalmic optician, a vet and an anaesthetist and taking some lazer equipment out to Kumyali. soon the figure will be known, but in the meantime David is making sure that th eoperaiton is done as soon as possible and will pay out of his own pocket if needs be, to ensure that george is helped at the first possible opportunity.
As soon as he knows, I am sure he will be posting on here. If he does pay out of his own pocket, then the fund raising will go on until he is paid back, bearing in mind that money is constantly required for their food etc.

david is the one who will be able to advise on all the finances, and I am sure that when you are out in June there is soemthing you can do if you are willing to help. If only to viskit George!

over to Donkey keeper on this one!
