water bill charges

I live in Girne and have noticed that the last 2 water bills have increased although we havent used more than the 10 ton allowed. We always paid 11 tl for 10 ton or less and with the additions it came to around 27 tl. we used 9 ton and 10 ton(mostly air !)in the last 2 months and the bills were 19 tl and 21 tl(before additions). Does anyone know if the 10 ton allowance has been reduced by the belediye? and by how much? I really resent paying for air and have been turning the water off at the mains to try to prevent this happening too much. I expect I have to do this more often in the future.

I believe Girne reduced it to 5 ton around April / May I can remember discussing it with a customer's neighbour but not when.

There was someone in the paper the other week saying there was a payment for 12 tonnes weather you used it or not in Girne.

We pay for (I think) 20 tonnes used or not in Lapta, I prefer to look at this as a standing charge rather than in tonnes of water used, that includes water. I actually think it is quite fair as each house is then contributing to capital costs of keeping, maintaining and hopefully improving the system.

With regards to air, just keep complaining when you go in, it is a fixable problem. My hope would be that once we start to receive water from Turkey more and more of us will be back on water all the time which would save any engineering cures.

Its actually 10 tonnes in lapta before they charge for usage. I was paying 20tl one month and 44tl the next month but now for some reason its been 58tl every month in lapta. I do try to get an explanation from them but it falls on deaf ears.
