Looking to buy a steam mop
Wondered if anyone has bought a steam mop recently or can recommend a model.

Re: Looking to buy a steam mop
I bought one a couple of months ago, but it was from Lakeland and it was posted to a PO Box in the South. It is a Shark Two in One ie it is upright but can also be used as a hand held. Cannot recommend it enough it is brilliant. Not cheap but well worth the money.

You can get one from Caroline the plant lady at Lamboussa. She is currently selling some electrical goods as well as her plants at special prices. Her steam mops are 100 lira, plus you get an extra electrical item at a special price. She is near the entrance from the old main car park in the garden part of the market.

Loose Boots,
We agree Shark is the best so we too brought one out but hey ho we were walking round the big supermarket, the one on the way to Ercan (Erigoglu???) yesterday and they actually had the 2 in 1 steam mop from Shark. Its a different brand name but deffo the same machine.
Hope this helps

Brought my Shark over from the UK last trip over there. Weighs less than 5Kg. Brilliant piece of kit.
Did you notice, Silverfox, if the Eruklu supermarket was selling the extra head covers?

Re: Looking to buy a steam mop
Help, my steam mop had died.......seen this lead from 2013. Need to buy one. Does anyone know the make of this steam mop, similar to the shark model. Or any recommendations of make, models and where to buy. Thank you in anticipation of your help.

As Silverfox says in previous post,Erulku sell them. Brand name is Fakir,2 in 1 professional steam mop. Identical to Shark. Work perfectly well. Don't recall the cost of it though.

Please report back if you are successful - I need to buy one as present for my wife..... ha ha!JenAnd wrote:Thank you, Becker.
No really I'd like to get one for our home - if you have no luck at Erulku then try in the newly refurbished Ercan Mall that used to be only a 1001 but is now really quite a good shopping experience - there are two shops likely to sell them in there - one is called Bimeks a discount electronics shop that sell vacuums etc as well as all other household electrical goods and the other is a DIY shop next door to Bimeks that sells this type of stuff too... in fact I'd be tempted to try the mall as well as Erulku even if they do sell them because the prices in these other two shops are keen...

Have bought both an iron and toaster in Bimeks and the sales assistant made a point of informing me that Bimeks gave a 2 year guarantee on both items.

Slightly off topic, but can a steam mop be used for marble floors?

Re: Looking to buy a steam mop
Yes a steam mop is great for cleaning marble floors. I once googled what should I clean marble floors with' and the answer was definitely no chemicals. Since changing to a steam mop they have never looked better.

Would it not be better to start a new thread here rather than resurrect a 3 year old thread.
Just asking ?

Re: Looking to buy a steam mop
I brought one back from UK, a Vac two in one. It is brilliant and so much better than wasting money unnecessarily on chemical Cleaners. Being asthmatic, this is also much better as the air is no longer being polluted in my house. It is so easy, much easier than hauling around a mop and bucket. You do have to sweep dust up first of course, but the micro fibre pad does a great job of cleaning. The hand held bit is great for windows, showers, bathrooms, grouting, etc.....no smearing on windows, and it is also fabulous for cleaning the oven. Has different attachments so gets into lots of little nooks and crannies One of the best things I ever got.
