On 3rd May I bought my daughter a Syrian Hamster for her birthday from a petshop, as we had one previously in the UK that we had to rehome when we left. This poor creature had half an ear missing, and was covered in bite marks when we got it so we called it "Lucky" as it was very lucky to come to a nice loving home where she would be well cared for.
Last night I commented that the Hamster was quite plump and that her nipples were visible, and this afternoon we have 7 more! Looked up the gestation period and only 16 days! My son would like one of the babies, but that still leaves 6, so if you might be interested in one in a few weeks let me know. They are great pets for children, easy to look after, only I would like them to go to homes where they will be taken care of properly (cleaned out regularly and handled), and not like in the pet shops here, that don't know how to take care of these lovely little animals. All they need is a nice cage, wheel, and a little house that are readily available.
Hamstered Out! On 3rd May I purchased ONE HAMSTER & today 8!

Re: Hamstered Out! On 3rd May I purchased ONE HAMSTER & toda
Reminds me of the days way back when my daughter had a gerbil that turned out to be a 'regular little breeder'. She had a good income for years on that. Every time there was a brood bred, off to the petshop for 50p each, but it was a local pet shop that was clean and cared for. Wish I could say I would have a hamster, but no kids, and too many cats. But they are gorgeous little things and I hope that they make a lot of children very happy. (or big kids!\)

Deja vu - reminds me of our first guinea pig - am sure it was only a few days later, what we thought was a baby had babies! - and continued to do so, or one or other of them did and did and did, til we managed to weed the males out!! (And for those in the know - no I wasnt married to a Vet at that time!!)
