I've been waiting for the new yoghurt shop in Karakum/Catalkoy to open as I love frozen yoghurt. Saw it open today so popped in. Two small frozen yoghurts with fruit topping came to 34tl !!! That's ridiculous! I won't be going back that's for sure.

are you sure they did not make a mistake. Anyone else been there. Did not even know anything about it, but sounds worth a look if only to see the price list!

Think I would have said, sorry no thank you, and froze my own yogurt, freezer is always on, Starbucks do a wonderful yogurt frappe now, banana or strawberry, they are both lush and nothing like this cost.

oh how disappointing! I've passed by and wondered if it was open. I'm curious to taste, but not 34tl.
Starbucks?... IS there a Starbucks here in North Cyprus, where?

Sorry Corona24 no there is not, but there is one just across the walk across border and they are ab fab, would strongly recommend them, have not been for a while but think they were around the 5 euro (or less) mark.

How do you make home-made frozen yoghurt out of interest? I thought it was quite a long process.

Natural yoghurt vanilla extract some kind of sweetener or sugar mix together then freeze. Stir every 30 mins or so takes about 4 hours to freeze. Or use an ice cream machine. Serve with what ever topping you like.

Thank you Barbie. I'm far from the border and even still, I cannot cross it.
Coconut, I just thought of it. What size were your yogurts? I wonder now about the charges. size, flavor, toppings etc to cost 34tl.

corona24 we chose the small cup each (there's two sizes) and it's self service so you fill it up with yoghurt from the machine (not over full) then scooped a few spoons of pineapple and kiwi. They charge by weight not what you choose to put on it. No prices posted around (now I know why!)

Is it dispensed from the same sort of machine used when you buy Mr Softee ice cream, with the same consistency? I love that ice cream, but it lasts no time at all.

We ventured into this outlet yesterday and one of the lady attendants' was kind enough to explain the procedure and pricing to us...... all based upon weight at TL 4.50 per 100 g.........yes you can take a tub and pig out with toppings galore but do be prepared for an extortionate bill at the end of it but do compare the price of this yoghurt with other shopping items such as

Cathedral Mature Cheddar.....We paid 8 TL for 200 g......... so only TL 4.0 per 100 g
Kellogg's Cornflakes....we paid TL 14 for 1000 g.................so only TL 1.4 per 100 g
Kerrygold Butter....we paid TL 5 for 227 g.........so only TL 2.2 per 100 g
Activa Yoghurts (4 x 110g) ...we paid TL 5.90 for 440 g...... so only TL 1.34 per 100 g........so only 30% of the cost of frozen yoghurt with / without toppings

The product looks delicious but it does seem as though they have not got the pricing right...I hope this price comparison helps and makes you think twice before you part with your cash
