Unfortunately, I can't help out with news stories because my school starts up again in exactly two weeks' time ... and until then I have to prepare a workbook. I'm just wondering how you are going to gather and/or translate the news stories.

Hi Ian, I have a few people helping out already, but any small contribution from anyone will also help me a great deal. Looking for budding reporters to be, both to get some experience along the way as well as helping me out with the paper. I am in hope that the paper will grow with time and concentrate on Local News in the TRNC.
As ever, thank you so much for your contributions on the forum, it is much appreciated. I you ever want your own column in the weekly paper, just let me know.

Wow. The deadline is looming and the paper is due to be read on thursday a.m. So far lots of folk have said they will be contributing, but I am not sure the first edition will be quite what Soner had hped. He doesn't let on how busy he is, and tries to do a thousand thing s in one day. He is worse than I am! But I personally hope (cos I am contributing) that we can get some useful news out to you all, but we also need to get it from youall. Lots of you know me and tell me already, but if you see or hear of anything that you think should be shared in depth, please let me know. Obviously we want it still to be on KibKom itself, but sometimes a bit of fufrther investigation can be a fact finding exercise worth sharing.

So this is really to say 'Be kind to Soner - he is killing himself to get this done!, And now no doubt he will kill me for saying it!!!!!

I am sure soner will reply. I think he has been sleeping all day! however, saldy, the coffee shop never got off the ground. But it oculd be that soemthng wil be found in the future, and he might well be wracking lal our brains again.

My husband said he might write on The Historyof road Making, but I am not sure how fascinating that would be to KKT readers. But maybe there are others whos jobs have had some extremely interesting moments they could share!????

I LOVE it. I think the articles are interesting, animals-KAR, Health-Tulips, Energy/Spirituality, sports...
love that its free, online, and LOCAL news.
I enjoy it a lot. Thank you for putting in the learn Turkish section as well.

read the paper for a second time today and was probably even more impressed than the first , I then asked a good friend of mine who is editor of a regional paper in the uk to take a look and give me his opinion , that was this morning , he skyped me late afternoon and basically said very well done , clear content very easy on the eye and if the content is varied and interesting it should only go from strength to strength .

my view for the future is that it has got to have articles that occasionally get close to the bone .

thanks Chelwood. Very encouraging to us all. It was a rush, ut soner put in hours and hours of thought and work and swopping around etc. (heard a rumour he went out to get a new box of matches to keep his eyes open!)

Agree it owuldbe good to ahve articles 'near to the bone' although here in Cyprus one has to be careful - it is a small place! But maybe people could write letters with a challenge and we could investigate, or maybe even folk such as yourselves could submit articles 'near the bone'. But of course soner will have final say, but..... the KibKom Times needs input to make it interesting.
