Wot? Only 230!

this is just to announce that I am intrigued. I am intrigued to know that we have nearly three thousand members, but only 230 havebothered to read that we are launching the online paper http://www.kibkomtimes.com .

so come on guys, spread the word. Mind you to have 230 readers in one day would be goo,d but it would be even better for Soner after all his hard work if it was 230 a day!

as I say, I am intrigued.

It was the first I'd heard of it too. Having had a look now though, have to congratulate you all for putting such a newspaper together, especially as I presume it is done by volunteers.

just looked through the kibkom times , very impressed well put together and plenty of topics , is there a subscription or is it free online ? just one little niggle , I would put an arrow next to the page numbers for easy turning of page instead as well as the choice of page number all in all a good 8/10.

Thanks Chelwood! Ye,s it is FREE, I repeat F R E E . Just go to it whenever you want to refresh yourselfd on what is and catch up on what is new. All wil be archived, so nothing will be lost. And all for free. But of course, Soner would like a few adverts for two reasons. One is generates income (and it costs him to do this) and secondly I think it is a great outlet for advertisers as KKT is global and not just local.

So carry on enjoying, AND, if you have anything you want said. We have got a Letters page - or there will be one if people write - there is an e mail address and contact on the last page.

Loved the language section and was amazed how much Turkish I knew with out actually having lessons,also did my first crossword in years,Is this a weekly or daily paper??

Soner is the one to answer your questions. I think he is completely worn out at the moment, so give him to recover form an allnight session to get the paper out on time. I am sure next week will be better.

It is in effect a weekly paper, but will be there at any time, and soner says if there is something shattering that needs to be shared, it will be added. But like all good on line papers, nothing will ever be lost and everything iwll be archived!

But as I say, let soner explain - he is the IT Geek (I am just a Geek!)

The paper is going to be weekly, but I have further plans which I am working on at the moment, but will not let on until I am certain that I will be able to deliver. Will keep you all informed soon.

Best of luck with the new newspaper. TRNC needs more decent online (english) news. lgcnews.com seems to do a sterling job, but it's always best to have as much sources as possible.

I think its great. Certainly on a par from a production point of view, with many of the Epapers which you can access these days. I do hope Soner (as you say M. workacholic of the year) gives some of the local "paper" papers a run for their money - and its cheaper - 'cos it's free - which will appeal to many of us!
