Sibel Siber's New Initiative

I read with interest about Mrs. Sibel Siber's new initiative to connect the voters to the government...

Maybe this excellent lady could find some way for us to have a voice. There are thousands like me who have committed their lives and futures to this country but we are disenfranchised. I don't ask for the vote, but without it we have no MP to contact - certainly not one who would listen - so there is no current way for our views to be heard. Personally I believe we are important to the future of TRNC, not only because we bring our savings and pensions here to benefit the economy, but because we are a significant channel for the news and history of this place to reach the outside world and help overcome the constant GC propoganda.

In addition there are many more thousand 'swallows' who buy property here, maybe just for holidays but many with a view to post retirement settlement. Such people are valuable in another way because they still have UK and EU MPs - if they felt valued here and felt that the government here had an interest in them they may be more inclined to lobby the same on behalf of TRNC.

So maybe they could appoint an ombudsman and arrange a similar system to listen to our voice. The cynic in me says "Yeah - sure" but his lady seems to have a good understanding of people and maybe, just maybe, if we could find a way to appeal to her, she might listen.

I think you'll find the Russians are pushing us out and are more prefered as their freer with their money
