Well the white Husky is staying, but I hate for him to be tied up, so want to make the garden dog proof. I need someone who can come and give me a price, and the cheapest way of doing it. My number is 0533 842 7204. Thanks, Stella

Please be aware - huskies need a lot of exercise and they have no homing instinct. That said, lovely breed!

It wasn't my choice to have a dog, let alone a Husky, but as most of us know, it sometimes just seems to happen that a dog turns up, and your more or less stuck. I'm looking for someone that can come and put fencing up for me, so he can be off the lead in the garden. If someone would take the dog, that would be even better!

Just looked that up on Amazon, looks a great idea, thanks, I knew they had them for horses, but didn't know for dogs.

You may find this useful.
Great idea on the shock collar? really? Try it on yourself first how it feels before you make such comments...

The whole point of it that it is a cognative system; once the dog knows it will get a small shock when it crosses the boundary, it won't do it anymore. It's a better option than the dog running wild and getting poisoned or run over.

Off topic I know but in reply to Fatouche I would just like to say that, I am totally against electric shocks against animals as a form of a deterrent. My Basset Hound suffered from separation anxiety, and barked all the time when we left her, this caused a huge problem for us, because we lived in a compound we were told to stop her barking or else move. So as a last resort we put a collar on her neck, gentle but effective the ad said. I set up a video recorder to see what happened when we were at work. We played it that night and got very upset at the cruelty we inflicted on our own pet. It didn't work, she kept barking even though she was getting shocked and could hardly stand up, she was drooling, she peed herself, I cant describe how awful it was. In the end we moved, and just 2 years later we had to have her put to sleep as she had something pressing on her brain that caused her great pain, fits etc. We will always wonder if the shocks had anything to do with causing her death.

Well done Stellastar for taking the dog on board.

As anyone who has been on this board for a long time will know that I am a cat person, not a dog person, although I love them, have never wanted one, and this isn't mine, it's my Cypriot neighbours upstairs. I'm just trying to stop them putting it in a cage and make his life more bearable. I don't know about the electric wire system for dogs, but where I kept my horse in England, one of the fences was electric, and I had a few shocks myself, but other than making me jump, it didn't hurt, but was enough to keep the horses in. I don't intend to use it here, but thought it was an interesting idea. People are far to quick to condemn someone on here. All I'm trying to do is make this dogs life happier, now I'm sorry I asked and sorry I use Multimax.

P.S. I am now really upset, have been so stressed with arguments with the owners of this dog, and now I get picked on here, so goodbye, I've had it here..

Stella/Fatouche. If you think I was picking on you then I apologise. I didn't mean it to sound that way, I was just telling a story that happened to me. Mine was to do with a collar not a fence.

Stellastar, I applaud you, you are clearly a very special person. I just wish the dog situation would be dealt with properly by the authorities.
