where are you?
We take ours to Hussein Hoyuk in Catalkoy village opposite the mosque, when our slats need attention.

thankyou Panchocat for the advice but we cannot take them out as it is the mechanism or latch which will either open or close the slats that is faulty LJ

We have taken ours to the shop in Lapta, take the whole shutter and he will put new mechanism in. Last time we had them done it was 50 lira.

Yes it's generally the latches with ours too. Hussein either collects if they are the bigger shutters or we take them to him if it's the smaller ones.

I thought two of our shutters were on their last legs, mechanism was rock solid and slats would move with great difficulty, manually, so I got a can of WD40 out of the garage, gave both ends of the slats a very quick squirt plus a squirt around the "handle" thingy and whoopee, they opened and closed like a hot knife through butter. That was last year and they are just the same now. Why not give that a try before you spend out more money than you need to.

Lapta6 as we live in Karsiyaka can you give us details of where in Lapta your contact is please? as our shutters are too big to transport ourselves,
do you know if they will come out to us?
Panchocat if no joy will try Hussein Hoyuk.
Sophie what a good idea but unfortunately it is the latch thingy that has broken and is as limp as a wet lettuce.
Thank you all for taking the time to reply LJ
