Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a register of carers in North Cyprus? If there is how is it regulated and by whom?
Same goes for nurses working on this part of the island - who is doing the regulating and how do we check the validity of qualifications, registration, post registration and practice requirements etc?
It is straightforward enough to check all of that out in the UK for peace of mind but how would one go about it in North Cyprus?
How are carers and nurses regulated in North Cyprus?

"Carers" in the UK are anybody willing to work for minimum wage and deal with a load of crap, I know several and none have had any training or qualifications. Most are now East European and can't even speak English correctly, if at all. So how easily do you check them?
My experience here is that the nurses in the hospitals are very efficient and competent, although I don't know if there is a register.

I agree there are many thousands of people who describe themselves as 'carers' in the UK but I was talking about bona fide carers who have been vetted by the Uk systems in place and have current 'disclosure' clearance that is registered and held by the local authorities or governing body they are working for. THis is a requirement when working with 'vulnerable' people and children in the UK.

Journey1, Have you posed this question to the British High Commission or a manager of a hospital. Otherwise you are just going to get peoples opinions and not getting the answers you are looking for.

halfful,
I object to your comments generalising about careers in the UK. I know quite a few, my SISTER being one of them. She has under gone training over several years, she is not eastern European and speaks perfect English. She is well respected by her employer and patients enjoy her company and methods. So please do not generalise and put everyone in the same basket.
As for nurses here there is a process of training and qualifications and unlike some countries, as a foreigner to be able to practice here you have to pass exams in Turkish.
