Bafra Beach problem!

I have friends staying in Bahceli and today they decided to visit Bafra beach. Absolute chaos, with rubbish and broken bottles across the road and main car-park,- also a large banner, but they couldn't read it! No way could they get through or remain there, so returned to Tatlisu. Does anyone know what it was all about? Certainly not a good advertisement for visitors!

Apparently the local Belidiye are on strike! A friend of ours, who is Turkish, visited there about 2 weeks ago and it was the same then. From memory he said that all the rubbish was collected and put into black bin bags, but left on the beach and then very quickly all got torn open again and the rubbish was strewn all over the beach again!
