Transfering Email addresses on to my Motorola Android

I must be as thick as two short planks but I can't understand the Google instructions and Motorola have cancelled their 78 page on line instruction book that came with the phone. I thought at one time I'd found the right way to go but Google say my gmail address doesn't exist!! Anyone out there who can help.

If you are using Gmail, you don't need to 'transfer' your addresses - wherever you log-on from, all your stuff is there, 'cos it's actually stored at Gmail HQ, not on the device.

If your problem is that you can't actually log-on to your Gmail account on your new device, just say so, and I'll try to help...
