Anybody with experience in BARF or Prey model diet for dogs?

I have been researching on this subject for months... For those who do not know what I am talking about and interested to learn something new, here it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raw_feeding

The main reason I am considering this is because I have a 10month old puppy named Max who was never ever interested in eating the kibble. No matter how I tried to get him to be more interested in his food, it did not work. From the day I acquired him till this day there has not been one case where I give him his food and he will just go ahead and start eating it. He eventually eats one way or the other but it is very obvious that he is not enjoying his meals.

I am not actually asking for any advice on what to do or how to do, I have all those already researched and planned. My question is; is there anybody else on this island who has chosen a similar path with their loved ones and what the experiences are like?

Please understand I am not really looking for outside opinions about the subject or the fact that somebody someday given a piece of raw meat to a dog and he/she turned out to be fine etc, only real life experiences and maybe professional opinions about the subject...

Hi, I dont know if this helps much but there is a guy in Lefkosa(a dog trainer) who recommends this diet.There was an article about him and I think it was in Cyprus Today a while ago. He is a Turkish Cypriot but I am sorry I dont know his name.

Cont; My sister feeds her dog(Akbash) the BARF diet. She started as a puppy and is now 3 years old. Her coat is glossy.her teeth are clean and white. Her poops dont smell and she has never had intestinal problems. She is full of energy but is very gentle with everyone. There is no food aggression and my sister can take a chicken carcass or a bone out of her dogs mouth without any problems. As her dog eats the whole thing, meat, organs, bones and everything she doesnt give any supplements. My sister moved back to UK last year but when she was here she used to get chicken carcasses,bones,sheeps heads and all sorts from either the butchers or supermarkets. Lemar sometimes has big bags of meaty bones in the freezer sections. It says for dogs and cats on it and is cheap. When she lived here she lived next to a farm with sheep and goats wandering around the place and her dog was never aggressive towards them. The farmer and his wife thought her dog was wonderful

Hello All,
thank you all for positive responses, I have received 2 Pms and kedikat response here all valuable.

Max has also never shown food agression, no matte what i give him, I am also very easily able to take it back from his mouth, or stick my hands in the bowl while eating etc. He has been brought up very socially, he gets along well with humans, dogs or cats or other living and not living things. (he does chase cats if they run away but it a play thing and never agressive).

I have read enough about the subject and I know that feeding him raw will not turn him into a fierce animal or into bloodthirsty werewolf, I am actually more concerned about health issues (mostly in regards to virus and bacteria, like salmonella etc), We have already converted full BARF in the past few days and I see he is already much happier during mealtimes. However, I do not want to make him sick thus asking for peoples experiences, if any, in Cyprus.

Good luck with your puppy. I am sure that diet wont make him sick. My sisters dog buried meaty bones in the garden and dug them up days later. They were very "ripe" by then. She never became ill after eating them as dogs digestive systems are able to cope with food that is really "bad". Cats are different and need fresh meat.
