Looking for home for Lucky, who was shot but recovered
I know appeals to home animals on the main page annoy some people, and I do apologise in advance for landing this request here, but Lucky really has had a bad time of it, and we are desperate to find her a new home after what she's been through.
Lucky and her sister belonged to the Vietnamese couple who had to return to their country when the Bamboo Beach project collapsed as Al Green Jnr hadn't paid their work permits. A friend of ours, Steve, organised food for the two who continued living at the beach until KAR picked them up. Sadly, my husband, who was helping to feed them, found a huge amount of blood one morning and we found out later that the smaller puppy had been shot and killed, while Lucky had been wounded. Steve found Lucky eventually, but only found out later that she'd been shot and not attacked by a bigger dog but she did recover while staying at Steve's house. Unfortunately, Steve already has four dogs and some cats who found a young puppy hard to handle. So when she was picked up by KAR to be spayed, Steve asked them to keep her. However, KAR say they can't keep her and that they eventually intend to drop her off at Lapta but she's been given two weeks' grace. A couple did visit KAR with a view to adopting Lucky, but KAR couldn't locate her.
Lucky isn't a street dog, she'll have a hard job surviving. She is a medium-sized Staffie cross, a beautiful, affectionate, loving dog who is house-trained but needs to be trained to walk on the lead. When my husband went to see her, she remembered him from the beach and gave him such a loving welcome. We would have taken her ourselves but we already have four rescue dogs who are all pretty big, plus 3 cats and we live in an apartment so we've reached our limit.
If there is anyone who could provide a kind home for this pooch who has gone through so much, Steve, his wife, myself and my husband would be so relieved and delighted. Lucky is currently at the KAR kennels, in (I understand) kennel 12. My phone number is: 05338472437, and Steve's is: 05338750829.

Lucky needs some luck urgently. Hope someone can help. It is not fair that one dog should have such a rotten dog's life!

Could dogs like this be advertised on the TV here as they do in the USA? Someone goes on, with dog, and then explains dog's story and hopefully someone will phone in. Just a thought.

Got no idea if you could do that nor how to go about doing that, to be very honest. Just hoping that someone will read about Lucky's plight and give her a good home through Kibkom.

Don't think TV advertising would be possible but this is such a small place anyway that word gets round.l It might be aN IDEA TO SUGGEST TO kar. (SORRY , lock got stuck).
But poor Lucky is really up a canine tree at the moment and time is running out to find a home. KAR SUGGESTED maybe a foster parent until a proper one can be found, but some people think this could be even more trauma for Lucky as she gets used to new parent sonly to be move d on again. She has been dumped and shot at too much!
At the moment she is at KAR at Arapkoy, but if anyone is going to see her they need to know she is in kennel 12! Please think about it- spreacd the word. It is just so unfair that an animal can be dumped, shot at, misunderstood and homeless and all because humans have been unkind. We are the guardians of the species of the world - so won't someone pleaswe guard and love Lucky to make sure her name is correct. Currently it is starting to have the letters U and N in front of it.

What a sad story let's all hope that some kind person will be able to provide a safe loving home for Lucky. Unfortunately we are up to our quota but she does look gorgeous.

Thjat's the trpouble Ozankoys. Every dog lover is up to their limit (and the limit olf long suffering family members too!!!!) Shame is that it is suggested that Lucky go to a series of foster homes. Is anyone offering???? I am not an animal psychologist (is anyone out there) but......I would have thought it would be totally confused and probably not see that life was a long trail of holiday hotels. Please someone love her. She needs it and deserves it.

If anyone is thinking of re-homing Lucky but is put off by possible vet fees I would be willing to make a contribution & am sure some other members might as well?

A wonderful offer, but I think she has been done in every possible way and is now healthy, but lacking the wealth of a good home. Plenty of folk areprepared to pay - even pay for her food at KAR, but there is a time limit unfortunately, and the clock is ticking away until..........well...............what? She can't stay at KAR and there is no where else for her to go. ~What a rotten, rotten dogs life. And like most of us, all she needs is love!

Thanks for all your support, Marion. Yes, Lucky is still looking for a good home, she's been spayed, vaccinated and, despite being shot, is in good condition. Just needs some TLC and a home from someone who can open their heart to this young puppy who's been through such sad times. Considering the fact that she lost her original owners and then got shot, she's still a loving little dog who would richly reward any kind person thinking of giving her a home. She deserves a lot better than being returned to the streets when she's not a street dog. Puh-leez, folks, spread the world around, will you?

Re: Looking for home for Lucky, who was shot but recovered
We haven't had any response for a new home for Lucky, but I'm contacting my daughter in Scotland to see if the rescue centre close to her would be able to help re-homing Lucky in which case we'd need to do some fund-raising to cover costs. The lady who runs the centre in Scotland rescues dogs from Romania and uses her own money, so we'd need to raise funds to help her, if she's able. Waiting to hear from my daughter.
