Microsoft Word Help Needed
Can anyone explain what has happened to my word documents and help me get the settings back to normal?
When I open a word document my cursor starts at about half way down the page. My margins are where they normally are so I am at a loss as to what to do next.
If I do start typing half way down the page, when it goes to the 2nd page this also starts half way down and not from the top.
I would appreciate some advice on this as I have not got a clue where to start and in simple computer language please as I am not a computer whizz at all (as you can tell )
Thanks
Sue

First thing to check would be file - page set up
and see what the top margin is set too. Somewhere around 2-3cm would be normal. If it is set to say 10cm it would produce results similar to those you describe.

Not sure what version of Word you are using but find the page setup controls, look for page layout and check the vertical alignment. It sounds as if it is set to centre. Change this to top and the problem should be fixed. It also looks like your template, normal.dot has this setting, You can open it, change the setting and save it so future documents are created with standard alignment.
Hope this is the answer.

Also if that doesn't cure your problem, check you haven't inadvertently set a header as this will also have the same effect.

If you are still stuck, give me a ring (or message me) and I will come round and sort you out. In fact, it would be a real pleasure to sort youout.

Thank you Harold2555 - you are spot on, I am now up and running though I was enjoying the rest of not having to put anything down on paper (so to speak).
Owl Lady - it took me a few minutes to sort it out but hey presto! Everything is back to working order - including me!!
