help please.
I decided to dig a well for my immersible pump but when the heavy rain came last year my pool house filled up to the outside water table. I filled the 1ft square well in and the same happened. the outside water table is still coming in to the level on the day.
what is the best way to seal the bottom of my pool house from outside water ingress.
thank you in advance,
alan.

Quite tricky! What you are trying to do effectively is like trying to repair a boat from the inside. The best way to seal this is from the outside and that will be quite hard if not virtually impossible. One suggestion would be to dig the well back out to below the concrete floor lever. Below this I would dig four inches down. Into the walls of the reveal I would dig a further 6 inches. You should now have a hole through your floor with the ground dug out beyond and around, if you imagine the cross section the dug out area would resemble a T inverted. I would then fill the dug out area to the base of the concrete structure with concrete but only up to the underside of the concrete and say an inch up. You now have a plug in the hole but still have a reveal part of the way through the floor. After giving a couple of days to cure put 2 thick coats of bitumastic paint over the reveal and the new concrete. I would suggest giving this a further 24hrs then putting another thick coat of bitumen paint and filling the remaining area to level the floor off. No guarantees!

To be honest I do not run my pump from now till the spring, i keep chlorine levels up and scoop leaves out, couple of vacuum to waste clean in the spring and it is back to normal. Have you considered taking your pump out for the winter, you could install it with a quick disconnect socket and it also depends if water ingress will reach the controls.

Hope that helps
