Has anyone heard anything about the Transfer Tax for title deeds being reduced from 3% to 1% please.Sounds unlikely but you never know.

Hi having done it recently I can confirm still 3% one off on first purchase, 6% on any further purchases.

Just in the process of sorting this out now and was told that its 3%.

If there is any hard evidence for it being 1% then it would be good to know. Somehow I doubt it.

I could be wrong but I think the 1% tax refers to the municiplypality tax which you have to pay at the time of the transfer.

I have just received an email from my lawyer and these are the details

Land registry transfer fee
3% (once in a lifetime option) of purchase price
Belediye Tax
1% of Land Registry Transfer fee figure
Title Deed fee & Additional stamp for POA’s
Legal Fees for Transfer of title deed (Famagusta)
Reserve Amount to Cover
Currency Fluctuations

Hope this helps

Yes what Cally says is familiar to me.
It's probably still 3%.
Just completed all mine, received kocan and a few hundred quid back from the excess paid to allow for currency fluctuations.
Took about two years for me.
