We are getting two or three power cuts most days here in Lapta, does anyone know what's going at Kibtek. I've paid my bill by the way.

I hope the power stays on tonight for the football match or my other half will not be a happy bunny. Mind you, if it stays on he may still not be a happy bunny at full time. One can only live in hope !!!!!

and Kibtek's story is......................? does anyone know. Friends of mine feel it is pitched to being cut just as they want to watch tennis. In my case it is as I start to work nearing midnight. For others it is footie, and for others jus tplain inconven ient - but as to why??????????????/ as someone said 'Oh to live in England - where they give you advance warning. 'but I don't reckon it is worth moving back there just to know when the cuts are coming. I have a little miners lamp in my drawer, and a dongle on my desk so when all goes I know I have at least two hours of battery on my computer. Better than nothing!

The same in Alsancak. The service is not really an abortion. They are simply using the rythme method !

Indeed DavPat - well spotted. Whether a 'little miner' or a 'little minor' or a 'little lamp for a miner' or a 'little lamp for a minor' or maybe I should say ' a small miner's lamp' - oh heck, I know you know what I mean, and whatever one calls it, it is most certainly the most useful thing I bought my husband. Yes, I have stolen it from him. I bought it for him when I went to Australia so he could still sit and read when the power cuts came. He never used it, but since I got back I have used it a lot. would suggest everyone had one! Got it from that camping shop at the bottom of the Bellapais Road.
But of course I wish I did not have to use it, because I don't go mining, merely have to tolerate power cuts.

Still on the subject of Electricity wasn't there talk about Turkey providing electricity to TRNC.... and hopefully dispense with power cuts.

From memory, I thought Turkey was going to provide additional electricity when supplying the water in 2014.

Can anyone advise/ comment please.

Think the unions have just answered that rather pointedly to say the least.

Correct me if I am wrong but aren,t we still selling our electric to the other side since the explosion. This could account for these many power cuts but then we have always had them and I have been here 24 years. Every year I hear that everything is going to be sorted and power cuts will be a thing of the past.

I had also read in the papers, that the millions owed by RoC has still not been paid to TRNC for the electricity used to date
