Is it possible to buy this type of shutters in NC or something similar?
I am thinking of these rather than vertical blinds.

I reckon you would need to get them bespoke made... but they look great. There are plenty of very capable carpenters - they are not that fast but they are usually good and reasonable. However you need to factor in the way windows are generally fitted flush with the inside of the opening here. i.e. normally there is no windowsill on the inside (which is a bugger because there's no where to put the normal things one is used to putting there!

Why would you want shutters on the inside of your windows?
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Just a bit of maybe useful info...We after 5 years here have bought shutters. Our only mistake was not buying them in year one. We have tried screening inside and outside windows with white and then silver reflective sheets of foil to evaluate the efficiency / effect before we bought. Our findings are that the sun is so powerful here, that putting anything on the inside, although better than nothing, is not really very useful as the sunlight / radiant heat will cook up the glass on the inside of the window and then radiate it into the house. Stopping the light a few inches away from the outside of the window works much better.

I was thinking that Elki so I've made my mind up to get shutters for the outside. We have large patio doors and I think shutters will be beneficial.

Not sure if this will help but I have had a home in N Cyprus for 12 years and the whole of my house windows and doors have wooden shutters throughout. They are on the outside however as all of the windows/door open inside. I love them and they look lovely but would point out that they do need to be painted/maintained about every 3-4 years.
I particularly love to have the windows/doors open in the high hot times whilst the shutters can be used to keep areas of the house cool when they are closed but still allow air to pass through.
Good luck in your endeavour.

Good that people are getting back to the way cypriot houses used to be. the shutters are needed for good reason. So many of the lovely looking new villas are totally impractical in either mid summer or mid winter.

Tescomar in catalkoy would be worth trying I think.
I am thinking about external Louvre shutters for a large bay window-Ideally wood effect UPVC which would get rid of the painting aspect.
This is the sort of thing I have in mind-

Good idea Philoz. I don't like the aluminium ones I have sen about. I was thinking maybe wood, but not paint, rather stain instead.
I wonder how much more extensive UPVC will be against wood?

I have external shutters on every wondow on my house.
As well as providing security, they can all be angled differently to make the best of the weather at the time.
Mine are PVC type. They require cleaning regularly I use a soft brush and a bucket of soapy water - dead quick.
Mine also require oiling every couple of years or so.

Well worth the investment.

Each to their own on design, mine are the white plasticised aluminium to suit a "modern" design of house.
The shop is Blue Ocean, Catalkoy, on the right hand side in a parade of shops going East, just before the big hotel / casino (Malpas?).
One thing might interest you, we found that 50% of the heat came not from direct sunlight, but was that reflected off the marble / tiles just outside the windows which added to the direct rays. We keep the lower sections shut full time in summer, and the upper ones 1/2 open. Stopping the reflected sunlight makes it cool enough not to have to shut all the louvers.
Another point, we did ours when we could afford it ie piecemeal...The North side does not need them, cosmetic only, the East and West do...and surprisingly on the South side (where the sun is at midday you would think was the worst offender), the sun is so high in the sky in july that it does not actually shine in the window so we are doing these windows last!
