Hello, I have family coming in on holiday that would like to visit the south side. I was wondering if there was a "tour" bus that drives from Girne to south side; visit history spots, etc and of course return. Does anyone who I should talk to, what company does this? or any to all information please.
Thank you

There are no companies that do this kind of tours. The only tours are companies that operate from the Greek resorts to the north only or you can hire a minibus from ViP or Kombos (Kyrenia area) and organize the tour yourself

Now there is a gap in the tourist market - certainly there are options to come to the north on a 'tourist' trip.

There is actually buses i know that go from girne to the south but i only heard of them going to trodos when there is snow. I haven't heard of any tours that go any were else i think some taxis do these tours though like a mini van taxi so maybe you could try looking for some of those.

I don't think the South officially allow our taxis & buses over. This is why you see the taxis blocking off the first letter on their number plate so it looks like a private registration - of course it doesn't but this is Cyprus where common sense & logic do not apply.

Ozankoys, yes you are correct in saying that this is Cyprus, where common sense and logic do not apply, but I must say that this is TRNC own doing, when the GreenLine agreement signed in 2003, The TRNC government refused to allow T plates to be included in the agreement and insisted that every Greek Cypriot tour bus coming over must have a Turkish Cypriot Tour Rept assigned from the TRNC Tourist board.
The other point is that the lack of Transport system is the North has never been developed by the Government, just look at the buses the public have to endure having to use in the North, Just to get from Girne to Nicosia you need treatment afterwards after the bus ride in a small 1950s-1960s buses.
