Yesterday morning at 6am I saw 2 foxes near the pool but it was too dark for a photo. Hoping to encourage them I scattered some pelleted dog food and this morning at 6:30 I got this photo.

Here's the thing, they will attract the attention of indiscriminate poisoners... Poisoned meat is being randomly distributed by locals who believe the way to protect their stock, be it chickens, kids or lambs is to lay poison wherever they think foxes and dogs are.... They do this with impunity. As the police are frozen to the spot by this activity.

So be careful with pets etc.

Yes, I agree with Grouchp, we have a family of foxes that have lived close to us for 4 years now and they regularly drink from the empty house next door and the vixen lays out in the sun at the bottom of our drive - my 4 pooches go absolutely mad but if we had cats I'd be worried. I'm amazed they are still here because the foxes territory is where the shepherd/goatherd pass on a regular basis.

My 2 cats where not in the least worried about the fox that used to come foraging, on one occasion they were all sitting together on the patio.

The local german shepherd, who is regularly allowed to roam free, is another matter, I won't go into the gory details.
Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.
