What a pleasant surprise I got yesterday, I was chuffed to little mint balls !!!!!
Last week I asked in a large curtain shop in Catalkoy for a price for three pairs of curtains for my lounge, chose which fabric, said I wanted them lined,the price given took my breath away, 1930 TL
Yesterday we went over to Famagusta fabrics, again asked, three pairs of lined curtains in comparable fabric, 500TL
It may be a long way over to Famagusta but for savings like that it's a trip well worth making, not to mention the added bonus of sitting in the sunshine in the old city enjoying a lovely lunch and glass of wine. A great day all round.

Not trying to impose on your thread but we have knocked down our fireplace ready for a log burner, plastering both sides where fireplace was/new marble hearth including up stand and new chimney top/slab £1750 sterling, log burner only cost £600 including pipes and shipping from the U.K. They must see an expat and think mug//rip-off.

Last year my friend bought new curtains for her lounge from a curtain shop in Catalkoy and paid over £500 for them. My windows are exactly the same and I bought mine from the Famagusta fabric warehouse, they lined them and made them up, plus the fabric and making of 5 cushions. The cost was 450ytl and the fabric is a better quality. So it definitely pays to shop around.

When you get to the big monument outside the city walls take a right turn, the Larnaca road, follow that until you see on your left side a massive tall building being built, opposite but just slightly further down you will see a sign on the building saying Holiday Apartments, take the left turn. After about 100 yds turn right then first left,follow the road straight on for a couple of miles,when you pass a big church on your right side you know you're on the right road. Eventually you'll come alongside a mosque ( right side of road) with two minarets, turn right here then right again, then first left, the warehouse is on your left about 100 yds up the road.
