I was going to bring my dogs from UK to here in the car and so glad I didn't......... it was hard enough getting ourselves through let alone the dogs. In the end we airfreighted them from UK and collected them at Larnaca, then crossed the border at lefkosa, where we were met by the vets who agreed to home quarantine.

I recall reading in the local newspapers last year of all the problems KAR had in trying to get dogs back to UK (I believe they made several trips and I recall some problems along the way) So for the sake of the dogs why not speak to KAR?

Speak to KAR - they have given advise to owners driving back, and can prepare pets exit TRNC and entry to EU then entry to UK paperwork. Speak to Kim (KAR Pet Travel Dept) - she can explain the process and routes - she has 1st hand knowledge of the trips . I think she also has contact details of owners who have recently driven their pets back and have agreed to share their experiences.
You can contact them on 0533 8694098 or email kar@kyreniaanimalrescue.org.

I would not envisage too many problems providing the dogs are micro chipped, and have had a blood serology report from Ankara (or another recognized laboratory around the world) showing that the animals are immune to Rabies. Providing one keeps up ones rabies boosters on time, these reports are valid for life. One needs this report to travel to countries outside of the PETS Scheme, and so from Turkey to Greece (EU) without quarantine. After that, IF the animal has an EU Pet Passport they can travel freely within Europe, but to have one of those, the animals would have originally been imported through RoC. Export licence from the North cost 10 Lira. Not a black art when you know the score. I recently took my cat to Turkey for a show and back again, and with the correct paperwork, no problem at all.

Good luck to you.
