We seem to have more than wasp nest in our olive tree - who can we get to remove it as they are now swarming and it is very dangerouse.
We have been to the office by the market in Girne and to the Orman Diaresi (which is where the Girne Bele sent us) but no one will come out.
Any ideas?
We live in Edremit - does anyone know where the local Belediye is for this area?
Many thanks

Re: Wasps Nest
You can contact Frog who are based in Catalkoy and their number is in the Buzz Book. They have successfully removed several wasps/hornets nests from properties.

Re: Wasps Nest
Put a load of ant power around the entrance - it attaches to the wasps then poisons the nest. Repeat until no more wasp activity.

Re: Wasps Nest
Many thanks to you both, I have called Frog Pest Control only because I cannot climb the tree to put the ant powder in!

If you can find a long plastic or similar tube, put a small piece of lightly stuffed tissue into one end then push it down a few inches. Pour in ant powder and then another bit of tissue on top. Now use it like a blowpipe with a sharp blow to send the powder round the nest entrance.

Re: Wasps Nest
Thank you but I am more than happy to let FROG Pest Control to sort it out, we must have thousands upon thousands of wasps in our olive tree and when they get active they swarm like crazy.
It now appears that we have a nest up the tree as well as one in the trunk and we are not brave enough to go anywhere near it - hopefully it will all be sorted out this evening.
